More about the role:

Our ideal graphics-walla/i will have led on substantial high-quality projects for a range of clients and brands. As the sole inhouse creative at Dishoom, you’ll need to be comfortable managing your own time and workload, and proactively seeking ideas and input. You’ll have ample experience of managing stakeholders and liaising with creative suppliers such as photographers and printers to achieve great results. You’ll also have a deep knowledge and appreciation (love, even!) for Bombay / Indian culture, and be able to thoughtfully apply this across a broad range of projects.Salary will be competitive and dependent on experience.

This is a hands-on role and no two days are the same!

You will work on the following:

  • Graphic design (internal and external)
  • Coming up with fantastic creative for all projects from concept to delivery.
  • Creating advertising materials for the launch of the Dishoom Cookery Book: From Bombay with Love.
  • Producing brand-new graphic design identity for restaurant launches.
  • Updating and improving restaurant collateral and menus.
  • Producing fantastic internal materials for our team.
  • Creating awesome social media assets and graphics.
  • Updating or creating design materials for all guest events (we’ve lots planned) and our big team parties, like the Family Mela.
  • Maintaining and updating our internal comms platform.
  • Managing relationships with internal stakeholders to get input and sign-off when needed.
  • Creative resources management
  • Managing all print requirements (quotes, invoicing, papers stocks, ordering forecasts, production) and artwork updates.
  • Consistently seeking economical ways to improve our creative resource management, improving our systems and getting the best out of our suppliers.

Our perfect Creative-walla/i will be:

1. Totally inspired by and in love with Bombay / Indian culture – perhaps ideally having spent some time there.
2. Highly creative (obviously!), with a keen sense of aesthetic and impeccable attention to detail.
3. Sparky, curious, resourceful, organised, focussed and proactive, full of great insights and great ideas.
4. As comfortable dreaming up and executing big ideas as they are working through systematic, detailed copy amends or adhoc creative requests.
5. A total design nerd. Conversations on typography and kerning light your fire!
6. Obsessed with great concepts and design craft but also happy to work magic on PowerPoint.
7. Fantastic with people – great at building and maintaining relationships, warm and genuinely lovely.
8. A good planner – resilient in the face of tight deadlines and comfortable managing projects/chunks of work.
9. Experienced in commissioning printed materials (likely a stationary fiend).
10. Literary-minded and able to string a few sentences together! Particular about spelling and grammar.
11. Fluent in relevant Adobe Creative Cloud tools (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.), asset/photo management
software as well as Microsoft Word & PowerPoint.
12. Experience/understanding of video editing and/or digital production (website, emails, advertising, etc.) is helpful but not essential.
