Blink are seeking a Graphic Designer with a strong understanding of mindful design and outstanding digital and print design practices to join their production team. This is a permanent, full time (40 Hours per week).

The Junior Digital Designer position requires high motivation, with strong technical skills and a sharp creative mind. This role entails having the ability to demonstrate in-depth understanding of both print, UI/UX, interactive and digital design, as well as the capability to articulate creative concepts to other team members.

While working side by side, and reporting to the Art Director, Graphic Designers provide day-to-day support to the team by creating professional and custom marketing materials including brochures, proposals, presentations, advertising layouts and marketing campaigns.

Duties:

  • Meeting with clients or respective Account Manager in order to design projects.
  • Achieving creative ideas and meeting the client’s project objectives.
  • Creating brand designs with outstanding ideas.
  • Making digital and paper sketches before layout and finalizing the presentation.
  • UI/ User experience design capabilities for web and mobile.
  • Create wireframes and user experience flows.
  • Creating and designing multi-channel campaign ideas for National distribution
  • Organizing finished artworks for printing after approval.
  • Designing diverse presentations for important in-house accounts.

Skills and qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of industry experience and a captivating portfolio.
  • Experience in UX/UI and Wireframe Design
  • College or University Design Diploma or Degree.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Apple system literacy and full adobe knowledge including XD, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Understanding of web design best practices and user interface logic.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to see the big picture, and active collaboration with key individuals both employees and contractors.

Some Good To Haves:

  • Knowledge of Sketch
  • Experience with the builder Elementor in WordPress

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to working both independently and within a team taking lead from Art Director.
  • Work with project managers to deliver tasks with quality in a timely manner
  • Ability to translate client briefs into impactful mindful design.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Responsibility and accountability to meet deadlines and project expectations.
  • Understanding of the importance of content and communication.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to problem-solve on the fly and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, across multiple projects and different sectors.
  • Have a deep knowledge in what ‘is possible’ with web design and functionality and bringing that to the fore

Compensation:

  • Competitive (based on experience)

Location:

  • This role is based in Vancouver, BC. (currently rotating between home and office working due to COVID-19)
