This position is full-time and based in San Francisco. They are also open to retainer-based freelance contracts. They´re looking for a senior-level product designer to join their growing Tech Team and lead design execution for Curology’s web pages. This role requires strategic thinking, the ability to tell compelling stories, visual and technical excellence, art direction, and a collaborative spirit.

What you'll do:

  • You’ll be responsible for building unforgettable brand experiences on the web in close collaboration with our Brand, User
  • Acquisition, and Creative teams. This may include product launch experiences, landing pages for our different audiences, product pages, website redesigns etc.
  • You’ll be continuously embedding learnings from past projects into new projects with qualitative and quantitative data 
  • You’ll be collaborating closely with our Creative Team to pitch concepts that can be implemented in-house by our designers, motion designers, photographers, set designers, video team, and more 
  • You’ll be onsite for photo and video shoots to make sure all the right shots are captured

Our tech team follows the “Shape-Up” product development process. This means all projects go through a 6-week shaping phase and then a 6-week building phase. During the shaping phase, you’ll work closely with a PM to shape upcoming projects with key stakeholders. During the building phase, your team will consist of 1-2 engineers, and a copywriter. In other words, this will be a cross-functional role where you will work with designers, creatives, PMs, department leads and engineers. 

This is truly an important role for Curology. Our web pages are viewed by millions of people each month, and have a large impact on our success as a company.

  • Humility and a team-first mentality
  • Artisanship—you obsess over details and are excited to polish your work until it’s pixel-perfect
  • A track record of personal accountability, and a strong sense of urgency and ownership
  • A deep understanding of what it takes to create elegant, consumer-oriented experiences on mobile and web
  • A user-focused design mentality
  • A deep understanding of visual design, typography, and grid systems
  • You know when to bypass minor UX testing and lean on your expertise, but also when to propose initiatives to fill in the gaps

  • Experience as a primary contributor to multiple high impact projects
