Designstripe are looking for a Scene Designer to join the team for a full-time position (40 hours/week).

You'll be working with their Studio team, including the Director of Studio & Creative Production, Studio Coordinator, Illustration Technicians, and Creative and Scene Designers, to build beautiful modular illustrations in a variety of styles for users of the designstripe application.

Responsibilities:

Studio:

  • Creating well-composed, meaningful illustrated scenes on all kinds of topics using existing modular vector illustrations in a variety of styles
  • Using your imagination and attention to detail to ensure that all scenes are fully customizable and aesthetically coherent within the designstripe application
  • Documenting and responding to user needs for illustration and popular or trending topics in the news
  • Keeping up to date on illustration, design, and colour trends and adapting quickly in your work

Product:

  • Becoming an expert at using our internal tools, and helping test features under construction
  • Documenting bugs, feedback, and feature wish lists
  • Participating in developing our unique product offering

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in written English and conversant in spoken English
  • Experience working as a Designer, Illustrator, or similar role
  • Familiarity with design & illustration software and technologies (such as Illustrator, Figma, Photoshop); experience working with vector illustration a plus
  • Strong design & layout skills; a keen eye for colours, aesthetics, and UX/UI
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow guidelines and documentation
  • Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of web technologies and tools
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Open to feedback & desire to evolve
  • Teamwork skills and cross-cultural sensitivity
