About Given:

We’re Given - The brand purpose agency. Founded in 2009 to help brands and business become a force for good, we’ve shaped sustainability strategies, dreamt up integrated creative campaigns and built impactful brands – all with a laser focus on creating positive change in the world. Our work has helped national and international brands like Ikea, Nationwide, Shelter, Aviva, Trainline, Yorkshire Water, Napapijri, John Lewis & Partners, Tommy Hilfiger, and many others define and execute on their brand purpose – inside and outside their businesses. We fundamentally believe it takes both insightful strategy and smart creativity to change things for good, so we have both under the same East London roof.

Day-to-day:

  • You’ll know your way around Adobe Creative Cloud and be able to create mood boards and concept visualisations to the highest standards.
  • You’ll relish working alongside a Copywriter and the Creative Director on conceptual and craft challenges.
  • You’ll be comfortable coming up with and executing ideas for any and all channels for many different types of clients, brands and businesses.
  • You’ll own the visual direction and production quality of all your projects and work with agency Designers and external photographers, videographers and other specialists to make your visions a reality.
  • You’ll research, brief and collaborate with external partners to deliver on your visions.
  • You’ll attend and direct shoots – accountable for the quality of the final outcome.
  • You’ll work on new business pitches and proposals, contributing to presentation decks as well as presenting in the room.
  • You’ll keep on top of best practice and emerging trends in advertising, marketing and communications.
  • You’ll manage and/or mentor more junior Art Directors
  • You’ll constantly look for new ways to improve the way we work and the quality of the agency’s creative product
  • You’ll get involved with Given marketing projects with characteristic creative flair.

About You:

  • You’ll have at least 7 years’ agency experience as an Art Director or hybrid Art Director/Designer. That might be in our part, or in a different part, of the industry.
  • You’ll love working collaboratively. Co-creation is how we work.
  • You’ll bring bags of energy and ideas.
  • You’ll really own your projects, driving them through and making them effective.
  • You’ll believe in making purposeful work that has real positive impact.
