Antidote is looking for a Copywriter to join their team. You're a self-starter. You take the initiative & make things happen. You're someone who recognizes an opportunity when they see one but knows how to steer clear of high effort low reward mirages. You are strategic, but also know things change quickly.

You enjoy written communication, and love working within (and refining) a process to make things feel more efficient & enjoyable (for our brand partners & us). You have a deep love for modern brands and are obsessed with the products & world they develop.

They're looking for a quick-witted, tasteful & supremely inventive copywriter whose portfolio showcases sharp writing, a love of all things social, and experience with a wide range of product categories and brands. This is an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects setting the tone and developing the voice while ultimately driving revenue.

who we are

hi! we're antidote ☺︎ a marketing agency communicating through email & sms. it's a weird niche, and one crowded with self described "direct marketers". we're not that....we just genuinely love brands, design, all things creative & running *profitable marketing*.

that's how we got here. we launched brands, worked on broader creative and ultimately noticed how effective email & sms marketing was becoming.

how we started

i started the company after selling part of another agency i owned. i wanted to be more transparent with my partners, work with founders I respected & ultimately do better work.

i didn't enjoy the "agency" world - how it treated clients, approached pricing & their talent. antidote was a way for me to experiment with how I thought things should be done. it's still that today.

how we're different

in our space (this weird niche of "retention" marketing) we're different in many ways. the main reasons lie in our beliefs :

  • safe space
    - it's that simple. this is why our team can work from almost anywhere (our office is in basecamp), choose our own hours (for the most part) and why we ruthlessly defend work-life balance. we're also introducing a bonus sharing program in 2021, pushing to make things healthier for our partners & our team ☺︎.

    basically, we're down for open communication & support. that's all we ask in return.

  • partners, not clients
    - when i started thinking about antidote, i wanted to make the "customer experience" as fun, approachable & enjoyable as possible - all while delivering world-class work.
    - antidote is a constant experiment of how we can do better for our partners, how we can remove ego, work transparently *with* our partners & master the art of hospitality - because "business, like life, is all about how you make people feel. it’s that simple, and it’s that hard."
    - our job is to make our partners feel seen, heard & supported. to make them feel & understand that we are on their side, no matter the situation.

    - we like to eliminate long periods of unknowns, present ideas in real time, get feedback & learn quickly - both from our clients, and the market at large.
    - rapid learning always wins. knowing this makes life easier.
    - note to self : less ego & anxiety. more doing. more learning.

  • never trust all-purpose glue
    - we literally don't do anything else. we spend all of our time strategizing, copywriting, designing and managing world class email & sms marketing.
    - this is our competitive advantage.
    - we manage some of the fastest growing klaviyo accounts in the world. we look across all of our clients to spot trends and see what's working in real time.
    - we don't like to guess. it's not fun getting things wrong.

  • what we do (and say) everyday matters more
    - there are no "hacks" when building something meaningful.
    - we view our results over the long term. our success lies in the macro trends we create for our partners (while we also learn from the micro).
    - we're not looking to "extract" all value from a partners' list within a given month. that kind of thinking is deteriorating. you shouldn't approach anything in life this way...
    - (we admit - we might leave some money on the table when looking at the results of an individual campaign - but we think that's just better strategy.)

  • focus on brand
    what we obsess over : brand, strategy, design & messaging. surprise, delight & education.
    building great relationships takes time. that is where our purpose lies.
