XYZ Reality is revolutionising the future of construction. This construction technology start-up has developed the world’s first Engineering-Grade Augmented Reality Device enabling construction teams to build it right, first time.
As a UI Engineer, you will help them connect the digital world of construction data with the physical world of builders and engineers, by designing effective, easy to use and compelling user interfaces for web and AR products. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge hardware and software, as part of a wider team of engineers, computer scientists and industrial designers.

Responsibilities   
  • Reporting to the Product Owner, based in their office in Angel, London.
  • Work closely with the UX and Design teams to improve the key user interfaces of our AR and other 3D digital products.
  • Contribute to a coherent design system to ensure consistency is upheld throughout their digital design platform.
  • You will be blending brand and visual requirements together with usability and interaction design principles to generate usable yet compelling UI assets. 
  • Push the boundaries of 3D design patterns and identify new paradigms of interaction.  
  • Conceive and articulate beautiful animations and transitions that can help make the user journey more usable and engaging.
  • Advocate for user needs and help foster a design culture, based on evidence and insights from user research.
  • Document and share UI assets, according to the device requirements.
Experience
  • Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Game Design, Computer Science or related field  
  • Proficient in a 3D software package (Maya, 3D Studio MAX or similar) for pre-visualization 3D UX/UI experience would be an advantage.
  • 5 years UI/UX experience as part of a professional team.  
  • 2+ years motion graphics experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UI design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma. Experience using prototyping skills to demonstrate how a particular flow or interaction will work.
  • Knowledge of AR/VR best practices.
  • Experience designing for Virtual Reality devices, augmented reality preferable 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to put your ideas across to other members of the team.  
  • A portfolio of work, of which you can talk through the design and implementation process.
Nice to have
  • Knowledge of CAD software and BIM standards.  
  • Unity/C# preferable but not essential allowing you to prototype and test ideas and interactions.  
  • Experience designing for Augmented Reality devices.
  • Familiarity with Confluence and JIRA.
