SENIOR ART DIRECTOR Reporting to: Creative Supervisor/ Head of Art / Creative Director
As part of the Creative department you will be working in defining and executing creative concepts. In your day-to-day life you will collaborate with creative copywriters, content specialists, editors, among many others. Your task could cover anything from searching from references to executing visual concepts. The work done in the Creative department is the cornerstone of our agency, and a team of people and departments work together towards building ideas powered by people.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Creative Supervisor / Art Director / Creative Director, he/she is responsible for supervising the Design and Creative team in creating content across all media channels.
He/she is in charge of overseeing design executions and creating visual responses to briefs with the collaboration of junior member designers or art directors. He/she knows how to define a creative concept and creatively develop and shape it according to the briefings assigned to him/her
A Senior Art Director assumes the lead role in all aspects of project execution and is always prepared for any changes with contingency plans. He/she is also responsible for mid-to-high level clients/projects and for managing and mentoring more junior figures.
He/She should have a keen eye for details and knowledge of the creative process to assist the team, especially when doing catch-ups.
LEADERSHIP
- Take the lead role for all executional aspects of the project.
- Lead, guide, mentor, delegate and manage the work of junior members of the Creative Team. Motivate others with thought-proving ideas.
- Provide timely feedback to the junior team, so that they can “refine” their conceptualization and art direction.
- Effectively communicate throughout the Agency.
- Have confident communications & interpersonal skills in order to clearly communicate (verbally and in written form) key messages to a wide variety of audiences (client and internal team), and to advocate the team’s ideas.
- Excellent presentation skills. Able to craft inspiring and clear decks to present the team’s work.
- Persuasive ability to influence, motivate and sell brilliant ideas to others.
- Ensure the adequacy of the creative product. Review and approve artwork developed by other team members.

- Be a reference for the development and creative guidance of the agency.

- Actively share learnings from training events and opportunities with the team.
- Always able to convert “our” social specialist knowledge into creative excellence, staying ahead of trends
- Share/transfer these knowledge to the rest of the team, and in a wider sense to all colleagues in We Are Social.
- Be able to sport opportunities beyond the briefs and champion art direction and ideas to the rest of the agency.
