Job Overview
The Senior Brand Designer at Plasmidsaurus will be responsible for setting the visual creative direction, driving innovation, and ensuring the highest standards of design excellence across all aspects of our marketing, UX and brand design needs. This role requires a visionary with a passion for creativity, a strategic mindset, and a collaborative spirit. You will work closely with the marketing and product teams to bring the Plasmidsaurus brand to life, crafting compelling visual narratives and enhancing brand experiences across all platforms.
As the Senior Brand Designer, your responsibilities include:
Design Strategy
- As the first designer, you will help us create a timeless/ extraordinary/ breakthrough brand.
- Develop and articulate a clear design vision and strategy aligned with Plasmidsaurus's brand identity and business objectives.
- Uphold the integrity of the Plasmidsaurus brand across various marketing and channel platforms.
Driving Innovation
- Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging experimentation and the adoption of cutting-edge design trends and technologies.
- Drive the refinement of the Plasmidsaurus brand through ideation and implementation of digital and print campaigns.
Design Excellence
- Ensure the highest standards of design excellence are maintained across all visual communications, including digital advertising, sales collateral, email campaigns, and the company's website.
- Enhance and fortify the visual identity toolkit for Plasmidsaurus while staying aligned with brand ethos.
Brand Stewardship
- Expand upon and maintain Plasmidsaurus’s visual brand guidelines, ensuring consistent and cohesive brand representation across all touchpoints.
- Take ownership of design initiatives, overseeing them from inception to completion.
Collaboration
- Partner with marketing and product teams to create seamless and engaging brand experiences, integrating feedback and iterating on designs as needed.
- Collaborate with content and social media teams to ensure visual coherence across all channels.
- Collaborate with marketing, business, and product teams by taking ownership of all visual communications materials both digital and physical, including advertisements, event materials, emails, editorial illustration, presentations, and more.
Typical Projects
- Contribute to multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
- Demonstrate strategic rationale behind creative choices to colleagues across departments.
- Refine and expand our illustration and iconography style and kits.
- Elevate our visual brand within the product experience.
- Creatively tell our story and highlight our product values and features on the Plasmidsaurus home page and interior pages, including micro-sites, advertising landing pages, and editorial pages.
- On a day-to-day basis, deliver graphic assets, resizes, and branded content.
Required Education and Experience
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in a creative role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to set creative direction and deliver high-quality design work.
- Expertise: Proficiency in design software and tools, including Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD), Figma, and Google Slides. Plus, knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Innovation: Proven ability to drive innovation and implement new design trends and technologies.
- Collaboration: Strong ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing and product.
- Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale to stakeholders.
- Brand Management: Experience in brand stewardship, ensuring consistent and cohesive brand representation across all channels.
- Project Involvement: Ability to manage involvement in multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Passion for Dinosaurs: Must love dinosaurs.
- In-house Experience: In-house experience on the client side is a MUST.
