We welcome a new intern every three months, alternating between design and development specialisms. If the opportunity isn’t the right fit for you in terms of timing or speciality please still send us your CV. We’ll consider it for the next round of intern recruitment.

Our recruitment approach mirrors our commitment to fostering a friendly and inclusive work environment. How to apply, key dates and fair recruitment process

We take fairness very seriously when it comes to our recruitment process. Because of this, we ask that you submit your CV and work examples in a specific format, to take out any risk of unconscious bias from the selection process, and to give under-represented groups confidence that their application will be fairly considered. We will also use the same standardised scoring criteria for all applicants.

By 13 September 2024 all applicants will be notified whether or not they have been selected for an interview, and selected applicants will be sent interview questions in advance.

  • Please send your CV and examples of your work in an anonymous format, to ensure we avoid unconscious bias during our selection process: Please take out any reference to your name in your CV, including any contact details, photos or portfolio web address. Please submit relevant examples of your work in a PDF, ensuring your name doesn't feature in the document title or anywhere within the document, and no photos of you are included. (Unfortunately portfolios on websites will not be accepted.)
  • Please email your CV and PDF of your work to careers@appliedworks.co.uk, ensuring that you include your full name and contact details within the email (so the administrator can log receipt of your CV before passing it on anonymously to the selection team).
  • Please submit your application by 6 September 2024, midnight (BST). We don’t need a covering letter, so please ensure your CV is up to date and contains information about you that is relevant to our selection criteria (stated above)
  • We will then carry out blind recruitment, where we will score all CVs with personal details removed to lessen the risk of unconscious bias.
  • Interviews (online or in person) will take place week commencing 16 September 2024, with a final decision by 20 September 2024.
  • The internship opportunity will commence on 30 September, but the specific start date is negotiable.
