We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Designer who will be instrumental in taking our digital design projects from concept to launch. This role calls for a seasoned professional with a profound understanding of the web design landscape and the ability to inspire teams to achieve outstanding results. Our most senior designers set the vision for projects, enforce our high design standards and make sure we're meeting them. You will help define and guide the design direction, user experience of digital brand campaigns as well as squarespace.com (aka Squarespace's 'Frontsite') in partnership with our dedicated Frontsite team.

You will be challenged in an organization that values both vision and execution. You will take ownership of the digital space by solving complex problems with thoughtful, elegant solutions. You keep a finger on the pulse of design and technology trends to ensure our projects are cutting-edge and resonate with current and future audiences. You have a strong background in visual, web, and interaction design and impeccable taste in typography. You are comfortable working closely with producers, designers, product managers, engineers, and product marketing. You are a strong team player and you're comfortable presenting work to stakeholders and receiving and delivering feedback to cross functional teams.

This is a hybrid role that reports into our Director of Brand Design as a part of our award winning in-house creative team in our New York headquarters.

Requirements

  • 6-8 years in design roles at agencies, studios, or in-house
  • Impeccable sense of design aesthetics and quality.
  • Strong understanding and background in visual, web and interaction design, site architecture, and designing intuitive user interfaces and navigation
  • Excellent strategic, conceptual, and executional skills.
  • Affinity for consistency, color, typography, photography, and animation
  • Advanced proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Figma.
  • Understanding of prototyping, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, browsers, and devices is a plus

Cash Compensation Range: $126,500 - $203,550 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
